Trail rides in Ruby Country

Ruby Rides Front coverA new series of circular rides has just been published by Devon County Council as part of  Ride the Ruby Country.

The 6 rides take in some of the finest, undiscovered countryside in Ruby Country, Devon and use bridleways and quiet country roads.

Village and Forest TrailRide 1 Village and Forest Trail

A 10.2 mile trail starting and finishing in Cookworthy Forest with ample parking available. The ride also takes in Halwill Junction and the small hamlet of Halwill.

 

Along the Pegasus WayRide 2 Along the Pegasus Way

A 9.2 mile trail starting and ending at Thorndon Cross, where there is a small amount of parking available. The trail heads towards Ashbury, from where there are spectacular views of Dartmoor.

Railways and Woodlands TrailRide 3 Railways and Woodlands

A 10.2 mile trail starting from Northtown Cross at Petrockstowe, taking in part of the Tarka Trail.

 

Village and Lakeside Trail

Ride 4 Village and Lakeside Trail

A 12 mile trail staring from one of the free car parks to the east of Roadford Lake also taking in the pretty village of Bratton Clovelly.

 

Bratton Clovelly and Boasley CrossRide 5 Bratton Clovelly and Boasley Cross

A 7.6 mile trail starting and finishing in Bratton Clovelly, taking in the stunning surrounding countryside with fine views towards Dartmoor.

 

Moorland TrailRide 6 Moorland Trail

An 8.7 mile ride out onto Dartmoor from Meldon Reservoir car park where there is ample parking. Ample opprotunities to link in to other trails along the way.
